George W. DuRant, CPA/ABV, CFF, ASA


George DuRant is a 1973 graduate (cum laude) of the University of South Carolina where he earned a BS in Business Administration, Accounting. In addition to being a CPA, he holds accreditations in business valuation from the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and the American Society of Appraisers and is certified in financial forensics by the AICPA.

He is a past president/chairman of the Columbia Tax Study Group, the South Carolina Chapter of the American Society of Appraisers; and the Business Valuation & Litigation Services Committee of the South Carolina Association of CPAs. George currently serves as a member on the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants Business Valuation Task Force and its Forensic & Litigation Services Task Force.

George has written and published articles in South Carolina Lawyer, The CPA Report, and other publications concerning business valuation and other topics. (see gdurant.com)

He is a frequent expert witness in commercial litigation involving accounting ethics, generally accepted accounting principles, professional malpractice, income tax, insolvency, lost profits damages, and business valuation.
